Add a Real Keyboard to Your iPhone

November 5th, 2008 by Connor Byrne | Filed under Links.

Personally I’ve never had a problem with the iPhone’s keyboard, but at times it seems like it’s just me and Steve who feel this way. If you simply can’t get along with the lack of physical keys, let me dangle the above video tantalisingly in front of you. (WARNING: Contains scenes of someone programming in Ruby. Slowly.) Yeah, I’m a mean sod, aren’t I? So, all you need to do is find a little keyboard, lop off the end of your sync cable, and splice the two together. Wiring diagrams are provided in the links below. Oh, and you’ll need a jailbroken phone, too. Good luck with all that. Let us know how you get on.
