News Roundup for November the 28th

November 28th, 2008 by SJC | Filed under News Roundup.

Since the entire American populous spent yesterday eating themselves into a turkey-induced coma, Apple news is a little thin on the ground this morning. But leave it to the good Dr. Macenstein to find a photo of Megan Fox in a tight black dress carrying an iPhone remind us that Apple continues to exists outside the US. The Apple Store Munich — Germany’s first — looks set to open today, complete with a wall of blue iPods following the design of the Bavarian flag. Das ist gud, ja?

And after Thanksgiving comes Black Friday, a day of discounting and spending. While there are a few good deals to be had, we’ll leave it up to the Electric Piggies to show a bit of British cynicism and scorn. Yeah, that £5 off of a £149 iPod Nano may be better than the across-the-board 2.5% discount we’re expecting on Monday, but not by much. Maybe we should all wait for the sales which begin at 0:01am on Boxing Day.

Here’s hoping that the American Mac faithful are spending their long weekend polishing their Apple rumours and putting the finishing touches to PhotoShopped Mac NetBooks, otherwise the run-up to Christmas is going to be awfully boring. In the meantime we’ll leave you with this list of “10 Blunders Apple Didn’t Commit” by Kontra, which comes to you via Dizzle’s i drank the kool-aid. It’s good to see someone else acknowledging the Norwegian menace, although I’m surprised “Going out of business” didn’t make the list. So enjoy, and happy shopping.
